His Best for You

Today, we enter the month of Tevet on the biblical calendar.

The root of the Hebrew word for Tevet means Good. This is the same word that God used when He looked on all He had created and He called it good.

“Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good.”

Genesis 1:31

This word good for us can be hard to receive, especially in seasons of suffering and persecution which we will face with every passing day that we follow Jesus as Lord.

What does good mean for me?

This is something the Lord has been teaching me about. I am learning to call Him Teacher, or Rabbi as His disciples called Him. I am learning to let Him teach my heart what it longs to know. Often what He teaches is paradox to our limited worldly understanding.

I asked, “What is good in Your eyes Lord?”

Jesus tenderly quieted my heart with these words,

Good is My Presence and Purpose in your life- My best for you. My best is not what the world’s best looks like. In fact, it is often the very opposite. My best involves suffering, patience, loss and disappointment in what once seemed steady and true.

“Why? How is this best?”

Because it removes all the lesser good, all the lesser good and unfulfilling, and it simplifies it down to what’s true. These things quiet your soul to peace in My presence, and that is true.

These paradoxes teach you that My heart is your Home. Nothing else will ever be, and you are a pilgrim on this earth.

My best is the loss of what is temporary so that the eternal things are gained.

My best is true fulfillment in my Presence and knowing your worth completely separate from all other people, words and things.

My best is you walking in the call that I put in you when I spoke you into existence in the Father’s hand outside of time. It is best, and your heart will only be at peace and fulfillment when you delight yourself in this truth.

Be at peace, Beloved, come live in My heart. It is a warm cabin, a roaring fire and all the love and purpose you have ached for all these years.

This is My Best- you fulfilled in Me.

Your heart finally Home.
