GUARD THE PROMISE

Yesterday I woke from a dream of strong warning from the Lord. This warning was about protecting the promise when it comes and guarding against unsuspected attacks attempting to hijack those blessings when they suddenly arrive.

In the dream, I was in a church standing around a table with a small group of women. I felt familiar comfort but also unease because there was a strong religious spirit in the place, and because of this presence, the environment had little light.

Two of the women were well-known leaders in the church group, and there beside them was a young woman who stood with her head down, who always did what she was told by others believing that was what “good” Christians were supposed to do. It was if she’d been programmed to believe that. One of the well-known leaders looked at me across the table and asked me like she already knew, “Isn’t your husband really wealthy? He’s the one whose wallet is very full of money?” I replied that, yes, that hasn’t come forth just yet, but it’s been prophesied that it’s coming.

She then got very excited to tell me that she had just been reading a passage in the Bible that tells us not to strive for money, so, she declared to me, that means you and your husband are to give away all that money. She continued saying that when you have money, you are to give it all away, and don’t keep it in order to be godly.

I stared at her in confusion until I realized, that’s not what that verse is saying, not even close. In my spirit I suddenly discerned she was operating under the same religious spirit that had dominance in that church environment. It was the same spirit that kept the programmed woman in blind obedience to these ring leaders around the table.

The verse she stated was clearly not about giving all your money away to be godly. It was about trusting God rather than striving for money. Yet this leader said it with such confidence and knowingness that it almost sounded right. She had manipulated the Word of God to connive and convince me that the godly thing to do is give it all away so that we wouldn't be in sin. Truly, the spirit of Jezebel was at work through this religious environment, masquerading through religion. Remember, if the spirit of religion is allowed to dominate in a church or ministry, it makes room for and partners with the spirit of Jezebel because they both want the same thing- manipulation and control.

In the next part of the dream, I was standing in another area of the church where the families were socializing. An individual who represents rejection from my past was standing beside me smiling and all of the sudden had decided to pursue a relationship with me. I was in shock that someone who had always rejected and stood at a distance was now wanting to commit, but, again, I discerned in the dream that something malicious was at work.

I looked down at an open wallet in my hands. It was my daughter’s wallet. I suddenly realized I had spent her treasured two, two dollar bills that she had been saving because they had very special value to her. I ran to the cash register and tried putting in change to open it, so I could get back the two bills, but they were gone.

When I woke from the dream, the Holy Spirit gave me understanding that I was being manipulated through the sudden false friendship of those who had long rejected me, believing they’d finally come around to accept me. This was a ruse, a distraction to get me to spend the kingdom treasure I had been so carefully guarding before that. He also pointed out that it was my daughter’s money that had been spent, and it was long gone after this interaction.

What a sobering warning. The Lord was being very clear—If I am not careful to guard the treasure of what the Lord brings into my storehouse in the days ahead, my children and the generations after me will miss out. Their inheritance and blessing are at stake.

The Lord reminded me of a similar warning dream I had a few months back. In this dream, the wealth had already been brought by the Lord and our family was standing on our promised in a beautiful home. However, I saw a woman driven by a spirit of Jezebel who had stood at a distance from our family until we received this promise. In the dream, she suddenly appeared and came into the home without invitation or knocking. She barged in with another female follower and they made themselves at home, acting as if they had every right to be there, entitled and trying to usurp the promised land we had long waited for.

Just outside I saw my husband and my dad standing beside a large silo. I knew in the Spirit that this silo had the financial blessing that was leftover after purchasing the home that the Lord had instructed us to save for specific ministry purposes. These purposes were bigger and more impactful than we could fathom, and they were the reason He had led us to this promised land. These resources were for funding the King’s harvest in the days ahead.

I asked Holy Spirit when I woke why my husband and dad were standing there beside the silo, and He opened up my eyes to see they were protecting the promise, the needed grain for the days ahead. They represent the protective nature of my husband and father and the ultimate protective presence and wisdom of Jesus my Bridegroom and my Heavenly Father. They stood guard over the blessing which was given to care for the special people He had sent us to in that land, to physically and spiritually care for them in the days ahead, so they will have a place of refuge and provision.

These dreams are a clear warning against both the religious spirit and jezebelic manipulation that will suddenly emerge when the Lord brings in the promise. He does not want His people who have been positioned like Joseph to be stolen from and brought into false submission to these spirits. Just as suddenly as the blessing came, these spirits suddenly showed up to try to steal and siphon the blessing for their own purposes. We have to be especially careful to discern the snake-like way the enemy twists Scripture and uses people to try to bring shame for not giving the wealth to whoever asks for it. This is a lie from the pit, for we know the Holy Spirit will lead His stewards to give to the specific purposes and vision He has for that resource. Many of you, like our family, have already been given specific instruction and vision for where to invest and how to build when blessing comes.

Do not be moved from it.

If we are deceived into giving it away to anything and anyone, the very people He has sent us to will miss out, just like my daughter in the dream lost her special bills. Those two, $2 dollar bills represent a God-designed unique and rare inheritance. That blessing is specifically meant for the people we were meant to be a Joseph to—the places, cities, groups, and peoples He has specifically positioned us to serve and be a conduit of provision and rest to.

If you are unsure or need discernment, ask Holy Spirit. Where He is there is freedom and a peace about the decisions and places He sends you to bless. He is the opposite of the religious and jezebelic control in many churches and environments. These instead use shame and a form of false godliness to force people into their own will and plans.

Walk in freedom, let His peace, His Word and His voice be the Only One who guides you.

We must be sober-minded, vigilant, and, as the Bible describes, wise as serpents and gentle as doves concerning the environments and people who are around us, guarding the promise with the same fervency we believed Him to fulfill it in all the years of waiting. These promises are the storehouse provisions for the great harvest of souls of the nations that is coming.

The Lord will have His harvest, and we must be careful and discerning stewards with every two dollar bill and treasure He entrusts to us. Truly, it is the inheritance of the generations to come.
